If the thank you is a heartfelt personal reaction, sign the card and tell them how much their work or actions meant to you. 

Whether you know it or not, random acts of kindness release dopamine, a chemical in the brain that can give us a feeling of euphoria otherwise known as the helper’s high. It gives us a chance to smile at ourselves knowing we did something nice for someone else without expecting anything in return.
